Class summary
In this class, ED491 Technology for the Classroom I have found a lot of information in technology and at the same time this information gives me guidelines. It helps me to give and understand the importance of Technology for the Classroom access to all my students in their education. This class also has shown me that with the environment in the education system, I must participate in the technology diverse classroom, teach students how to manage information, and their implications for educational technology practice. However, with the views on these issues I have learned that as a teacher I have to be proactive in the right way in education. I think every school must implement technology in the learning environment.
Coming into this last week I have reflected on the issues that we have discussed over the eight weeks. Actually those weeks were a little short, but I think I learned a lot. I learned all about mixing my experience as a teacher with all the issues presented to us by the technologies and the professor Eric Langhorst; also this prepares me to handle any type of situation in the classroom with technology. I hope my future students will learn how to analyze and synthesize my information gathered from a variety of resources, and possibly develop a multi-media presentation to share their research in my Spanish classroom or whenever they want to use it for their convenience.

Week 7 Writing Prompt Response
Grants for the classroom
The first I will like to select is the Best Buy grant. If my school was awarded 10, 000, we could have new computers for the classrooms and/or computer lab. We could have smart boards with projectors. Also since I teach Elementary Spanish I and II levels 103, 104, and 105, I would like my computer to be equipped to do international classroom workshops, so students could have the opportunity to interact with students from South America and Spain.
If the wealthy patron donated 2500.00, then I would use it in the same manner, except of course I wouldn't be able to buy as much.

Week 6 Writing Prompt Response
Copyright and teaching
In the article, New Copyright Law for Distance Education: The Meaning and Importance of the TEACH Act by Kenneth D. Crews, Professor of Law stated that "The institution is allowed to retain limited copies for limited purposes, but the statute indicates nothing about whether the individual instructor may keep a copy of his or her own instructional program." I think every teacher could use, print out and share this guide as long as you keep the contact information with the link to the website intact. The copyright information was very useful.
For example in my country, Venezuela, with Andean Pact Decision 351 and Venezuela’s 1993 Copyright Law provide the legal framework for the protection of copyrights. The 1993 Copyright Law is modern and comprehensive and extends copyright protection to all creative works, including computer software. A National Copyright Office was established in October 1995 and given responsibility for registering copyrights, as well as for controlling, overseeing and ensuring compliance with the rights of authors and other copyright holders. I think that the Venezuelan copyright and teaching enforcement branch of the police (COMANPI) continues to provide copyright enforcement support with a small staff of permanent investigators.

Week 5 Reflection: Is Google Good or Evil?
After having read a bit about Google, it appears that Google, as a company, does not have much integrity. They are a very large company that seems concerned about their employees' creativity, but there are many controversies about their business practices concerning discrimination over age and sex in hiring, as well as user privacy with cookies, length of time user information is kept, use of satellites, copyright, censorship, and many other questionable practices.
On the other hand, I don't think its evil using Google. As a matter of fact I think it's a great research tool, because it gives you a variety of information that could be useful. I believe it's up to the student to use it wisely and responsibly. Google is just a tool; however it's up to the researcher to choose information that it's legit.

Hola amigos.
I’ve shown my students the following video. It is good to shown and discuss how writing and texts are shifting with the development of new technologies: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gmP4nk0EOE

Week 4 Writing Prompt-You Tube
I think using YOUTUBE videos in the classroom is fine, as long as it's used to enhance the topic being covered. I think that it's like using any other material found in the internet. To my understanding these videos are posted for anyone to use or view. It is important to note or credit the creator when viewing such videos. To me it's like viewing a clip from a news source. As for students posting their own content on this site, they are free to do so at their own discretion. If they are going to share something from the class then the teacher and students need to be aware and should be able choose to participate.
